HIV-related Cognitive Impairment

This 1-day CPD event will be relevant to psychologists and other health care professionals who work in HIV and neuropsychology. Presentations and workshops will focus on issues relating to the neuropsychological impact of HIV across the lifespan, with the day structured around key clinical areas including assessment, rehabilitation and ways forward.

Assessment: A series of short presentations focusing on clinical issues relating to assessment, including:
➢ Language & cross cultural issues: Dr Matthew Jones Chester (Clinical Neuropsychologist; UEL, London)
➢ The usefulness of the RBANS: Dr Ndidi Ebubedike (Clinical Psychologist; Barts/Mildmay)
➢ Executive functioning: Dr Amanda Campbell (Clinical Neuropsychologist; Walsall)
➢ Social cognition: Liz Ireland (Trainee Clinical Psychologist; UEL, London)
Rehabilitation & Support in the community:
➢ Primary school aged children: Dr Dean Krechevsky (Clinical Psychologist; St Mary’s, London)
➢ Working with OT in the community: Will Chedwiggen (Occupational Therapist; Barts & London)
➢ Developing services at the Mildmay: Dr Ndidi Ebubedike (Clinical Psychologist; Barts/MIldmay)
Ways forward: The final plenary session will focus on future challenges:
